  How Does Gender Affect the Teaching Profession?      How does gender affect the teaching profession? Gender is something that I think has a significant impact on teachers. When we look closely at the majority of teachers, most of them are women. Throughout my entire educational career up until junior year of high school I had all female teachers. In the future, I hope that there will be more male teachers in the profession. Personally, I think this would be beneficial for male students to see male teachers that are similar to them. Another issue with gender is male teachers have to be more cautious around students.   Do I Have the Full Picture?      Do I have the full picture? This is an important question that I believe all teachers need to think about and address inside their classrooms. It is so crucial to understand the entire picture before making assumptions or judgements. To me a teacher should be able to assist students inside as well as outside the classroom. There will be experiences and issues in students home lives. We may not always understand or know what is happening, and this is why it is essential to know the whole picture.      For me personally, I have experienced a time in my life where I struggled tremendously. My teachers and peers didn't understand what was happening in my personal life and how greatly I had been struggling.
